May 10, 2026: God's Heart for the Church: For Men and Women 2.0

May 10, 2026    Nicole Cade

Pastor Nicole's sermon continued taking us through Genesis 1–3 and the long‑standing debate around mutualism and complementarianism, highlighting that the “rule” and hierarchy introduced in Genesis 3 are not God’s created design but consequences of the Fall. As she showed in the text, God is describing the breakdown of relationship—not prescribing how men and women should live—and the shift from mutual partnership in Genesis 2 to fractured dynamics in Genesis 3 comes directly from sin, not from creation. Nicole traced how patriarchy emerges only after the Fall and how Paul proclaims in Galatians 3 that Jesus’ redemptive work undoes the curse, abolishing systems of hierarchy tied to ethnicity, status, and gender. The gospel restores God’s original intention: men and women as co‑image bearers, co‑laborers, and equal partners in Christ.

Galatians 3:25 -29

But after faith has come, we are no longer under a tutor (law). For you are all sons (heirs, one who shares the character/nature of another) of God through faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.
